On the fourth day, the fingers of fog parted from the Annapurnas, and showed me a little teasing glimpse of Machapuchare – the Fishtail mountain.
The way from Ghorepani to Tadapani was beautiful, evoking an elvish wilderness, a profusion of viridian life that merged into mysterious fog.
The second trekking day in Annapurna was all about water: what it means to trek in the Himalayas during the monsoon season, and all about finding drinking water in the mountains!
It had never occurred to me to ask if a female trekking guide was even an option. And a female porter as well? I was intrigued. I was sold.
Taking Jason to see dugong in Sibu Island did not go as planned. But our different contingency approaches showed me the value of opposite points of view.
