Tell no one, my friend.
I have the key to the Vault.
Therein are supplies of the most precious of things
not from the hands of man.
Time if you need it
Peace for your wound
Space for your flight:
Whatever and all that is true.
But I must ask beneath the door,
I must ask for the key to turn.
So ask with me, my friend, ask.
Maybe the Vault opens for you.
– South Ari Atoll, the Maldives.
Speak, or forever be silent.
Sometimes as you wander through life, you might get lucky enough to learn a few truths. Truths so deep that the closest sensation I know to delving to those depths is to dive into dark water.
Perhaps freediving – long and deep – would be closer. I imagine it might be.
And once you’ve somehow managed to get deep enough for the pearls, and understand how to rise, you’re changed. Understanding changes you.
For instance, you understand how it is that acquiring wisdom differs from acquiring knowledge. You understand that someone can teach you knowledge, but wisdom is something you consent to be taught upon you.
And so there are questions I know now I cannot answer – even if I know the answer.
But I can help you dive – to the vault – and let’s see if it opens.
If it opens, you will know the answer yourself.

Very insightful thoughts and a lovely poem. How true that while knowledge can be transferred wisdom has to be acquired with open mind and open heart. This reminded me how the ancient used to strongly believe in the power of wisdom and their aim was always to acquire wisdom
Reading this pots, realised it’s been a while I mediated. Like that you explored life and it’s complexities in a subtle way.
It’s the only way it can be… :) We could all use some away time to be peaceful in today’s fast-paced life.
